After Breath of Fire is a podcast for practitioners who want to go deeper than the lineage they were handed. The language of Kundalini yoga — chakras, the Sushumna channel, Kundalini rising — didn’t begin with Yogi Bhajan. This show traces where it actually came from: through the Nāth tradition and Haṭha yoga, the transgressive ritual world of the Kaula yogini cults, the non-dual philosophy of Shaivism, and the ancient astronomical wisdom of Jyotish and the Nakshatras. Each episode pulls on a thread — historical, textual, embodied — and follows it back. Why did the wild feminine get domesticated in India, and what does that process look like running in reverse in Western spiritual culture? What does the sun-moon polarity of ha and ṭha actually mean? And what does the Age of Aquarius have to do with the Vedic Yuga system — or not? I’m a student, not an expert. I’ve been sitting with these questions for years, and this is me thinking out loud.
